Don Rinehart Art and Bio
A native of Adams County, Don is a 1972 graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he taught drawing, painting and photography for Rec Services, Arts & Craft Center, Fort Dix, NJ and at Ft. Gulick, Panama Canal Zone. Upon discharge from the service, Don moved to Pittsburgh, and worked as a stained glass designer and graphic Artist. In 1980, he returned to his roots in Gettysburg, PA and started his career as a free-lance artist.
Don taught Watercolor Classes for HACC Gettysburg branch in 1992, and watercolor classes for the Carlisle Army Barracks Arts & Crafts Center in 1993 and 1994. He now resides in his hometown of Fairfield PA with his wife Jo, and has continually expanded his artistic horizons into a variety of mediums to include oil painting, pastels, pencil, charcoal, stained and etched glass, photography and watercolor.
